Leadership is full of decisions—some exhilarating, others daunting. The pressure to make the right choice can feel overwhelming, but what if you had a clear framework to guide you?
Emotional Intelligence (EQ) has been one of my secret weapon for making decisions. Whether it’s handling difficult employees or making big career moves, these four EQ-based questions have never let me down:
✨ 1. Self-Awareness
Ask yourself: How are confirmation bias, sunk-cost fallacy, or my emotions impacting this decision?
Acknowledging these forces helps you separate facts from feelings.
✨ 2. Self-Management
Ask yourself: Am I basing this decision on stories I’ve made up in my head or neutral facts?
It’s easy to let our assumptions take the wheel, but grounding in facts leads to clarity.
✨ 3. Others Awareness
Ask yourself: What might other stakeholders see, hear, or feel about this situation that I don’t necessarily experience?
Understanding their perspectives fosters better collaboration and stronger outcomes.
✨ 4. Relationship Management
Ask yourself: Am I being clear on my decision and expectations for next steps? How will I handle pushback?
Clear communication and proactive planning are essential for implementation.
These questions have guided me through some of the biggest decisions of my life—whether to move across the country, publish a deeply personal book, or step away from teaching yoga to focus fully on my business. Every time, they’ve helped me act with confidence and integrity.
I know how transformative it can be to approach decisions with clarity and intention, and I want that for you too.
That’s why I’ve created the Confident Decision Maker Catapult—a 2-week coaching program designed to help you overcome doubt, make decisions that align with your values, and step into your full potential as a leader.
Stay tuned—I’ll be sharing more details soon. For now, which of these questions resonates with you most? Hit reply and let me know—I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Here’s to your confidence!
With love,
Your coach,
💜Sara
