My Wellness Routine To Take On Life With GUSTO!

I love learning how my mentors and other high performers have the energy and zest to rock out family, career, and personal goals, while feeling great and having fun.

Below you’ll find my daily/weekly/monthly wellness routine, consistent practices I carry out to feel good. Hopefully one of these will resonate with and inspire you!

Daily:

10-minute morning mantra meditation followed by reading my daily affirmation (that I update whenever shifts in my life need to happen).

A probiotic for digestive health on an empty stomach after my meditation + a women’s daily multivitamin with my first meal.

A scoop of marine collagen with my coffee for healthier skin and so much more!

One serving of spirulina shaken with a little organic 100% pineapple juice, for flushing out toxins, internal deodorant (for toxin-free natural deodorant users), heart health, and so much more!

1 small glass of green juice. Once a week, my sweet chef, er… husband 🙂 juices a delicious blend of celery, kale, spinach, parsley, ginger, and green apple that we both drink daily.

A serving of magnesium at night in capsule form or made into a hot tea or cold drink with Natural Vitality’s Natural Calm magnesium supplement to relax my body and bowels (hee hee!)

Weekly:

I work out 6 – 7 days per week. My sweat sessions are mostly for my sanity and to make sure I am nice to my family, but my body also benefits, of course! I schedule my workouts into my weekly calendar on Sunday nights. My ideal schedule:

3 days a week: A 30-minute run. (Before kids I ran 60 – 90 minutes a pop, but now find 30 minutes does the trick while allowing me time for my other desires and responsibilities.)

1 day a week: Full body weight lifting. In between sets for “rest” I work a different muscle group so the entire workout takes me only 25 minutes.

3 days a week: Power yoga. I supplement whatever the instructor is teaching with extra chest openers (to combat computer slumping and kid carrying) and hip flexor lengthening (to counteract all the sitting at my desk and on airplanes). My favorite hip flexor stretches include the full split, low lunge, lizard pose, galaxy, and lying on the ground then drawing one knee at a time into my chest. Ahhh, that sounds yummy just thinking about it!

1 cleanse day per week: This could be an all-raw food or an only fruit feast day (tomato and avocado are fruit). I am currently trying a nutrition-led intermittent fasting cleanse that I’m liking. No matter which cleanse I do, the day always resets my cravings (to nutritious ones), keeps me mindful of my relationship with food (Am I eating to nourish or because I am stressed, lonely, bored, or sad?) and leaves me feeling light and healthy.

Monthly:

Facial. Massage. Facial. Massage. I alternate these and get one every month. If I have extra tension in my shoulders and neck I will get as much massage as I need. I believe massage is one of the healthiest things we can do for ourselves: It releases physical stress, is a great act of self-care and relaxation, and I get some of my most creative ideas on the massage bed when my mind doesn’t have to focus on anything else.

Group meditation. I gather for meditation with other women of all ages once a month to pray, celebrate, learn, and grow spiritually. For thousands of years women have come together in circle. Especially in today’s age of digital-driven separateness, and the rise of women, this is so important.

Girls. Night. Out. After having kids, I realized how important it was to connect with my ladies support system for a yummy meal, lots of laughs, and/or burning some calories on the dance floor.

Quarterly:

Every 3 – 4 months I get my spine adjusted by my chiropractor as maintenance. After lots of travel or when my body feels off, I visit her more often.

Annually:

At least one incredible getaway with just my husband.

At least one family getaway to somewhere new.

At least one girls long-weekend getaway for laughter and group therapy 😉

Always:

I’m always working with a coach or enrolled in a course or training program to learn something new and keep growing. Growth is a top driving factor in my life, and as a coach, its critical for me to be able to continue offering my clients more.

Of course, everyone’s body and lifestyle is different, and your body may change as you age or go through different stages of your life. I encourage you to experiment to find what works for you, and then when you do, keep at it. It has to be routine in order to serve you.

What do you do to feel good and have high energy to take on a life you love?
